Oh how I love Sunday afternoons.
The morning is filled with lush tastes and colors of the farmer's market, the sweet sounds of voices singing together at church, the beauty of the ocean as we drive home along the coast.
And then we are home and it's Sunday afternoon.
The church clothes are put away and now the comfy clothes are on. No plan, no agenda on a Sunday afternoon.
I can remember always enjoying this feeling, starting as a child. It was a time when everyone was home and just doing what they pleased. No rush to finish homework...that would come later when Sunday evening arrived.
So now it is that favorable time of day. The little man is napping, Travis is out cruising with my dad, and I am home just happy with the feeling that comes along with my Sunday afternoons.
I used the recipe in Martha Stewart's January issue for this pastry cream, made a gluten-free tart crust and piled on these delicious blueberries.
Should I admit that this is the second tart I made this week?
Perfect for a Sunday afternoon.
