tape and tires.

There was a day a couple weeks ago when George requested to stay home all day. That request made me quite happy as it was so hot outside and I too felt content just staying at home. So we opened all the windows, turned on the fan, and using some rolls of my craft tape we turned the living room floor into a race track, train track, airport strip, pirate lake, crash-up derby, parking lot, all in one.  And I'm so happy we did.  This idea amused George all day long.
When I suggested we walk to the library before lunch, he declined and instead requested an additional road be added.
When I suggested riding his bike to the bluffs after lunch, George suggested adding our house to the track.
When I was cooking dinner he used up the last of the tape to add a lake.
It reminded me that days don't always need to be planned. I don't always need to fill the day with excursions and outings to make it a productive one.
George was so happy of what we made and it provided hours of entertainment for him. This made me happy.
And two weeks later this track remains.
