Last year George's preschool wasn't going to have a Valentine's day party (much to my chagrin) but then just a couple days before the day of l'amour they said they would have one (much to my delight). By that point our local shops were all out of Valentine's cards and I had no real desire to sit down with G and have him cut out hearts and print out his name. The would have taken some real patience. Instead we went outside and took this silly little picture, printed them out at our local pharmacy for 10 cents a piece and taped a lollipop to his hand. No printing of letters, no licking envelopes, and a pretty unique little card if I do say so myself! The top photos are of his cards from last year.
This year we did the same type of thing and again left it to the very last minute...this afternoon. I could not believe how cleared out the store was, not even a bag of lollipops! We did find these fancy little chocolates on sale so this year the kids are in for a treat!
